Video: Ours, Arch/Matheos, Cale Parks

Video showing the physical items. Unsure how many more videos I'll make before I move, although with a lot of PTO coming soon, I may make more. But this may be 1 of the final videos showing new vinyl in the storage space.

I forgot the title of the Courtney Swain album Between Blood and Ocean.

I should try and make a video about DS9 and the doc soon if/when I find the time. Maybe on 1 of those PTO days if not sooner.

New Videos: VENNART+PT, AOTY, Top 10 ARTISTS/BANDS

The Vennart To Cure a Blizzard Boxed set opening. I for some reason forgot the big deal with this was not the Copeland CD, but the Copeland VINYL.

Also Porcupine Tree - Signify double vinyl.

Albums of the Year abridged. I didn't want to make a 30 or 40 minute video with a list of all of even half of the list per time and desire to just give an overview. I linked in the description the Entry in the blog from last month.

I do intend to make a preview video or podcast soon to go with the epic entry I put up last week. That one likely will be longer; per why a PODCAST might work best for it. I dunno, I guess I'll see. If not before, I'll try and do that during that week I have off in early January.

I decided to make a cliche Top 10 Bands/Artists of all-time. I went into some detail, but not execessive. I figure this is 1 of those type of lists people like to watch on YouTube.

Click-baity I suppose, guilty-as-charged.

I'll probably make an albums one. Songs?..as I've stated like a bazillion times, trying to rank SONGS, like all-time favorites is just almost pointless and impossible for me.

Maybe instead, just select 10 artists and choose 1 song from each, maybe in A SERIES of videos that could go 10 or 50 videos deep potentially, lol.

Videos: CDs and Vinyl (April 2018)

Neither of these videos are short (16 and 19? minutes), but I covered a good amount of ground. I can say, there is an EDIT function in the software I'm using on this laptop, which it's more of a "trim' on the beginning or end of the videos unfortunately. But it may hold some hope for editing these in the future.

No clipping on the laptop-filmed video, so the RSD video with Joyce may have been per my volume levels or how close we were.

I am starting to think the laptop may be the way to go unless I am literally out-and-about filming. It just works better at this point and even the quality of the video seems better.

Oh and I need to actually write a Grimus-featured history entry I think per this video. Not HUGE I don't think, but just an overview like I did in the video.

The Family Crest - The War: Act I
Kindo - Happy However After
Grimus - Unmanageable Species
Grimus - Emergence
Grimus - Egretta
Grimus - Panikon

The Family Crest - The War: Act I [2 LP]
Marillion - Living in Fear 12"

VIDEOS: Record Store Day 2018

Record Store Day 2018 Videos.

The 1st 3 are just short clips, the 3rd one, a bit longer taken at WHOLE Foods. I wish I would have taken more clips, but the memory in my camera low, so it probably would have required time for me to delete some stuff, etc. Even the battery I think was low (I hardly prepared for it).

The 4th video is Joyce and I showing our purchases, and telling anecdotes, and opinions.

45 or 46 MINUTES, lol. Not intended, although I knew it wasn't going to be short.

Truth be though it was a lot for Joyce, rightfully so. I showed mine and told some stories and opinions. But as I mentioned, I'll hopefully be making another video showing and talking more about the ones I bought plus a few others too of course. At the Storage Space.

Hopefully time allowing.

But I won't blame anyone for either taking time to watch the 4th video (or fast-fwding). I did list the items shown in order (I need to learn how the timestamps are put up so easily for some. I'm sure it shouldn't take all that much time, but I don't have time to try and figure it out right now, lol).

Cheapo (St.Paul): Joyce: -The Police - Roxanne '7 [RSD] -Madonna - The First Album (Picture Disc) [RSD] -Josh Rouse - Love in the Modern Age -The Bird and the Bee - Recreational Love Kyle: -Jeff Buckley - Live at Sin:e Box [Deluxe/Legacy Edition] [RSD] -Steven Wilson - How the Big Space '12 [RSD] -Snarky Puppy - Sharktank '10 [RSD]

VIDEO: Shadow Gallery VINYL+ Kimbra concert comments

Unfortunately the memory card filled up unexpectedly (I need to delete a ton of things on it, although it can take some time to do oddly).

But I just showed that Shadow Gallery vinyl I got last week from Korea, and then per the Kimbra concert and apparel, I make a comment or 2 about it. I maybe want to record a Podcast about it soon to follow-up that long review I did last week.

Vinyl: 2/2/18 In Vain, Fates Warning, Blackrield

In Vain - Currents
Fates Warning - Parallels
Blackfield - Blackfield
Blackfield - Blackfield II

In now looking, the Vinyl copies of Currents from In Vain include the Bonus tracks in-effect. So the 7-track version I have heard is the standard version. I will have to find those extra tracks at some point soon (no ability right now to listen to my record of course).

Anticipating some others soon (reissues/1st time on vinyl)

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing

allmediareviews.blogspot.com - What's in My Bag? (Amoeba)

Mew - No More Stories
Queensryche - Empire
dredg - Bug Eyes (Promo CD)
dredg - Excerpts from Leitmotif (Promo CD)

yeah, kind of an homage/tribute to the series that Amoeba records does.

I actually mentioned to the guys behind the counter about my blog. No official video from Amoeba of course. The Needle Drop they did one for..so why no others like me?..maybe next time.

I did put back a few items like a Dream Theater live Vinyl and iamthemorning, plus the dredg SACD I mentioned.

Too much, had to save cash for the Nesmith show, etc.

November 2017 Videos: CDs, Vinyl, Collectibles

So I decided to upload and share these videos from November 2017 that I made in the Storage space (and of course not edited. I know YouTube does have an editing function that maybe I'll have to try and play around with soon).

I guess these and some of the others are kind of obvious why making videos isn't too easy for me (the space/situation and of course TIME among other reasons).

And my head does get cutoff frequently, but so be it, maybe I'm and even others don't mind or are used to it.

The 2nd video the LIGHTS GO OFF (turns black) per the hallway lights at the Storage space are on a timer and I think it's like 15 or 20 minutes, which I need to remind myself whenever I may be making videos there in the future.

Had that not happened, there likely would have only been 3 videos.

The 4th video is up so close, dunno why I didn't realize that, but again, so be it.

Also in reviewing these, I have a few more items still to show, namely Extreme and a Rush 7" I think from Black Friday Record Store Day. Maybe soon, perhaps when some of the other Vinyl I'm expecting come in (Subterranean Masquerade, Typhoon among others).

VINYL VIDEO: The Dear Hunter, Steven Wilson, Queensryche

So I made and shared this one, only 3 new Vinyl.

I made 3 other videos from like 2 weeks ago that I never uploaded, with my head getting cutoff, lol. Which happens in this one as well.

I guess I need to try and setup the camera higher so it doesn't cutoff my head but still includes me (maybe I need a new Camera?).

but those videos had like 10-15 records and cds.

I guess I'll see.

this video includes

The Dear Hunter - All Is as All Should Be [EP]
Steven Wilson- To the Bone
Queensryche - Promised Land

I have also quite a lot of vinyl coming in the mail soon, so obviously if I want to show that, I'll have to try this again, and hopefully avoid my head being cutoff. I have a lot of  boxed and stuff in there to be able to potentially set the camera up high enough and at the right height to capture myself and the records.

Then again, I may just go there to make videos not showing music instead of making a podcast. Not sure. Namely for those Calendar videos or podcasts. Or even that list of Songwriters perhaps?

Another vinyl update and the 1 CD from The Woods Brothers to show. Unfortunately, there are at least a couple of other cds to show that I misplaced, but they'll have to be shown in a future video.

Rush - Presto (1st Pressing)
XTC - White Music
Local Natives - Sunlit Youth + Past Lives /Villainy/Fountain of Youth/Lyndon

Random Artist Feature: Yes

8/14/16 2:30AM

24 minute video which again, longer than I'd prefer, but would almost rather do 1 longer than 2 shorter I suppose. Lot of ground to cover, etc.

Random Artist Feature: Rush

8/10/16 6:25AM

Part 3. I should make a part 4 and finally wrap this one up soon, but I can't be sure if that will be next week or more so, down the road as I don't have any of those albums on vinyl. I may just wait until I do, although Snakes and Arrows I wouldn't plan on it.

The Spirit of Radio "7
New World Man/Vital Signs (live) 12"

16 mins unfortunately, and Part 3 came out longer. Unsure if I want to remake that 1.
There is a lot to talk about Rush though and the fact I have a bunch of additional pieces besides just the standard studio albums.

6/28/16 4:49PM

Again, Part 1 of this new retro prog favorites, etc.

Random Artist Feature: Genesis

8/10/16 6:21AM

Parts 2 and 3. A phone call derailed part 2, but it also forced it to not be as long, etc. I also am borrowing slightly from Ministry of Music's "Album Review" title.

As I mention and label them, these are now called "Artist Review" as it sort of works better. I also include some comments about other channels and upcoming Artist Reviews.

I unfortunately forgot to mention something about Daryl Stuermer. O well.

So this is the start of a few bigger name collection/vinyl/anecdotes series on YouTube.

There's a deeper commentary about what I'm trying with these right now, etc, but I'll just say for now, I am hoping by making videos about more well known artists, these videos (and thus other videos I've made/will make by lesser known artists) will be seen.

Why in a series? obviously, the discographies are so long, the videos would end up 30 or more mins.

Why not all at once? I'm just sampling here..and it's kind of a cool, more *random* way to do this.

Vinyl Update 8-7-16 ft Dream Theater

I kind of wanted to show the new Dream Theater vinyl I found for under $20 yesterday. The anecdote about the wedding is odd, as the idea of finding a cheap Pink Floyd vinyl unless it's at a garage sale or something is kind of preposterous.

XTC - Dear God/Extrovert/Earn Enough for Us/Grass 12"
Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Dream Theater - Train of Thought

Random Artist Feature: Jethro Tull

19 minutes, but I more or less covered everything I own and my entire experience with them. Although I think 2 or 3 of those albums are so good, I may end up revisiting them and making a video with more specific details. For one, I should have mentioned the saxophone use in A Passion Play which I love. And more of the lyrics on TAAB.
