Record Store Day Videos Playlist

 Record Store Day Videos (2014-)

.

I just went through and created 1 of several Playlists among the 610 Videos on the YouTube Channel.

I would guess more than half of the videos in this playlist I shared in here, but so be it. It's a 1-stop shop and it's for the most part in chronological order.

edit: I just reordered them to be in full chronological order.

If I felt like it and had the time, I could try editing clips from these into like a 30-45 minute documentary, but who knows I would find it worth doing.

A lot of the videos I did when I started doing YouTube were just these; showing vinyl and from Record Store Day specifically per it was an easy, obvious thing to film.

The clips with Coco our dog and John are probably most of what I get out of these. The stories, sure, we had some adventures and anecdotes to pass along in the whole Record Store Day experience. It might have been interesting to even had filmed them when Joyce and I started going together in 2011, or even further back with the 1st few years. Per, I have gone every single year since 2008. Those early years it was more about getting free food, lol and schwag. Maybe seeing some celebrity there or whatever.

I dunno, the people involved with RSD should chronicle the history in a doc. Maybe around the 20th in 2027?..it would be especially cool if it were done just locally from Minnesota history for myself just for nostalgia.

I suppose I could have even posted about it back in 2008, 2009, 2010, etc..I know I wrote about Record stores back then, but I'd have to look it up in here to remember.

Anyway, here's a screen cap of little Coco and Joyce from 2018.

VIDEOS: Record Store Day 2018

Record Store Day 2018 Videos.

The 1st 3 are just short clips, the 3rd one, a bit longer taken at WHOLE Foods. I wish I would have taken more clips, but the memory in my camera low, so it probably would have required time for me to delete some stuff, etc. Even the battery I think was low (I hardly prepared for it).

The 4th video is Joyce and I showing our purchases, and telling anecdotes, and opinions.

45 or 46 MINUTES, lol. Not intended, although I knew it wasn't going to be short.

Truth be though it was a lot for Joyce, rightfully so. I showed mine and told some stories and opinions. But as I mentioned, I'll hopefully be making another video showing and talking more about the ones I bought plus a few others too of course. At the Storage Space.

Hopefully time allowing.

But I won't blame anyone for either taking time to watch the 4th video (or fast-fwding). I did list the items shown in order (I need to learn how the timestamps are put up so easily for some. I'm sure it shouldn't take all that much time, but I don't have time to try and figure it out right now, lol).

Record Store Day 2015

4/21/15 5:23AM

Here's the 1st part of the footage I shot, sort-of. Unfortunately, there's some here (and likely more in the rest of the content I tried-to shoot), which cuts off heads and shows the ground.

As I've said before, this shooting video stuff is a work-in-progress for myself. Recording  audio is 1-thing, but Video? especially while carrying other things in my hands as well, well, it's a skill I'm working on to master, but still needs practice.

Parts 2 and/or 3 if time allows, will be shared in the next few days. The editing on Premiere Elements tho is both rather un-user-Friendly and even more-so, time consuming when it requires over an hour just to convert a 450mb file, lol.

4/19/15 12:36AM

Myself, my fiancee and my friend John went to 3 stores today after a slightly *late* breakfast around 9:30AM.

Barely Brothers
Agharta Records
Cheapo in St.Paul

Items:

-The Decemberists - Picaresque (10 yr Anniversary colored, which includes a download of a live show from 2005 in Portland, Oregon)
-Tomorrow - Tomorrow (Gatefold)
-Typhoon - Prosthetic Love 7"

-XTC - Skylarking
-XTC - The Big Express (Promo)
-Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother (German issue)

Breakfast at Colossal Cafe in the Como area (the St.Paul location, the open date is still pending).

I attempted to shoot a bunch of 2-7 minute on-site video, which if by some miracle, I will be able to edit-together (while editing out much of it at points). But we'll see. A lot of the videos had durations of time where you don't see anything or people's heads are cutoff, hence why the editing would be beneficial.

A video with the Fiancee and I showing our RSD items again? may or may not happen. If it does, I would look for it to be shorter than the 30 min from RSD 2014. We'll see, time is rarely on our side tho.

I may just instead, try and write something more extensive about the issues I have with RSD and I suppose why this year was much less stressful and may be a new/best approach for years to come.

Or at least why Black Friday RSD seems to be a little more my and the Fiancee's thing I guess.
