The Final Countdown (Epic Swing Metal Cover)

quite tasteful cover by Connor Engstrom. As the style suggests, it could be done by Diablo Swing Orchestra perhaps.

I post an entry like this every year or maybe 2-4 times a year, etc.

So I'm not sure if I'll bump this, or just post a few more of these over the next 3-6 mos.

The intention is to EDIT it and bump it; not *STICKIE* it per I don't desire to have 1 entry stuck at the top.

At any case, as the news, announcements, and speculation for new albums come up, this list will have more titles.

If any of the names get bumped up to be released before Halloween, obviously it'll be removed/posted likely separately. But given it's October 15th, the odds of that are not too high.

AMR Podcast #9: 1st Quarter Albums + Anticipated Update

Kind of a crammed update to the List and Anticipated to a point. I do like that I have done this, this early. Just need to commit to it for the other 3 quarters.

I didn't realize the month when talking about BTBAM and The Decemberists, but o well. I did correct it.

LDC new album is really good, so I would not be surprised to see it finish in my top 10. But that list is really vague in order, Come May, I likely will have something more accurate. Although right now, I can't stop listening to Dirt Poor Robins, which I can anticipate a separate video/podcast coming about them anyway.

Long Distance Calling - Boundless
The Gloomcatcher - Blade in the Belfry [EP]
Typhoon - Offerings
Galactic Cowboys - Long Way Back to the Moon
Orphaned Land - Unsung Prophets and Dead Messiahs
In Vain - Currents
The Dear Hunter - All is as All Should Be [EP]
The Faceless - In Becoming a Ghost
Diablo Swing Orchestra - Pacifisticuffs
Greg Herriges / StellaRoma - Revel and Ritual
Esperanza Spalding - Exposure (+Undeveloped)
U2 - Songs of Experience
Cloud Cult - The Great Alone (OST, instrumental)
Nicholas Krygovich - In an Open Field
Field Music - Open Here

Umphrey's McGee - it's not us

+ a lot of anticipated albums and artists.

AMR Podcast #5: 2017-2018 Anticipation (1st Quarter?)

40 minutes, not surprisingly. Had to use a different site per the length (or size?) was too long/big. Which is weird per 1 of the previous podcasts was over 30 minutes, so I can't be sure whether this site tunetotube has a time or size restriction.

It's really mostly rehash of the Anticipation/Calendar entry that I continue to bump, only some elaboration on most of the names.

I recall in the past, I have made preview videos that were 2 or 3 parts, so go figure. But I figured, this is a only audio and a "podcast" of sorts, so 40 minutes isn't all that excessive.

I can't guarantee, but truly do mean to make more of these this year as many of the announcements come in throughout the year of what comes out.

And of course if I want to look at it by quarter, the 1st quarter ends January 31st, so I guess I'll see what has been added/updated from now til then to decide on making another 1 of these that soon.

Also 1/4-year like a Midyear list like I have done at the end of April the last few years.

Facebook February 10th

Track list is below. No release date has been announced yet, which may be why I never posted anything about this album until now. Because I likely did on the Social Medias.

Well, when more info comes, this will be bumped, and this album should come out relatively soon with this info already confirmed.

Looking forward to it, as I enjoy their last 3 albums especially quite a bit. The mix of jazz, prog, and metal with male and female vocals often works rather well for them.

Also I now recall "Jigsaw Hustle" was released as a single back in 2014.

No automatic alt text available.

Diablo Swing Orchestra - Jigsaw Hustle (Single)

Not a bad new tune, even a little different. New album may not be too far away?

edit: also it's been pointed out on many sites/forums that DSO have a new lead singer Kristin Evegård after former lead singer Annlouice Lögdlund left band due to an Opera career.

Announcement from Facebook

Ladies and gents, we just finished our last rehearsal before the recordings will begin and we finally agreed on a title:

Pandora's Piñata

Album will be released in the first quarter of 2012 so be patient and stay tuned for sneak peaks of what to come!

Cool news, as I've been pretty anxious to hear their next record ever since being won over at ProgPower USA in 2009 by them (after not caring for them previously..the Opera-style of vocals mainly, which I've come to like), and then their record released around that time Sing-Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious finishing in my top 30 albums for '09.

This band are crazy and fun in all the best ways. Like Unexpect or Akphaezya but maybe a bit toned-down. More emphasis on cello and concsise guitar-riffs.

I found out this upcoming record was not coming until 2012 earlier this year, although it was funny enough how announced on April 1st they were breaking up. Thankfully, that was just something to find funny (unlike the other bands who've broken up this year).

Diablo Swing Orchestra - TBA (2012)

facebook post

given they were talking about their next album coming this year, maybe as far back as last Summer, it's good to receive a more realistic and up-to-date projection. Their last record Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious is rather good, so this is something, I for one, want to know about when it's coming.
