Ne Obliviscaris drummer leaves

facebook post

not really something to be happy about, but I'd presume it's for the best and the band will find a new drummer hopefully soon. The more pressing thing right now, beyond Ben finally rejoining his bandmates down under in a few days, is when the debut album comes out. It seems likely they are waiting for a reasonable offer from a record label to finalize that. Hopefully early in 2012 it'll be announced if not sooner.

Ne Obliviscaris Part Ways With Drummer Dan Presland

“Hey Everyone,

We’re sad to announce that we have parted ways with our drummer, Dan Presland. Dan has been part of NeO since 2005, and has played a big part in the bands formative years, from our demo recording, ‘The Aurora Veil’ in 2007, through many gigs and tours and finishing off with the recording of our forthcoming album ‘Portal Of I’.

As disappointing as it is that Dan will no longer be a part of Ne Obliviscaris, this is something that has been coming for a while. As with any relationship, sometimes over time people just grow in different directions with what they want out of the band and in life, and so seeing that, Dan has decided to move on and focus his time on other things. We’d like to thank Dan for all that he has contributed to NeO and we wish him all the best for the future!

We don’t expect this news to have any impact on the pending release of our album ‘Portal Of I'. We have already started rehearsing with another drummer and with Benjamin finally arriving back in Australia this Thursday, December 15, after finally winning his long visa battle, we are really looking forward to releasing this album and doing many a tour behind it in 2012!
