Ne Obliviscaris - Urn (2016-2017)

Urn - Ne Obliviscaris

1. Libera (Part I) – Saturnine Spheres (9:52)
2. Libera (Part II) – Ascent of Burning Moths (2:36)
3. Intra Venus (7:29)
4. Eyrie (11:51)
5. Urn (Part I) – And Within The Void We Are Breathless (7:30)
6. Urn (Part II) – As Embers Dance In Our Eyes (6:38)

 (45:56)

Mixed feelings to an extent as my take/feeling about this band is not where it once was. However, this seems like a concept album, and 1 that hardly looks extensive being 45 minutes. Maybe this album will be more refined/concrete perhaps?

I suppose my big issue is with them the mixing and production on their 2 proper studio records (Citadel and Portal of I) and the emphasis on Blast Beats and layers. They often feel hot and almost overproduced.

Mind you, people love them and I am certainly really glad they have found success (or even are still a a band considering the events of a few years ago with their guitarist and Visa issues in Australia, etc).

I guess we'll see. I am I suppose cautiously optimistic about this. When I check out the 1st track below "Intra Venus" my take may change a little.

And the release date just makes it to be included for this year's end of year list with the Halloween deadline just a few days after the October 27th release date.

Preorders including vinyl below of course.

Also I do wonder if their Patreon program has been going well since they still have it and it's shared. It's great to see if so of course.

Vektor and Ne Obliviscaris interviews (per That Drummer Guy)

2 really good interviews from That Drummer Guy, these 2 interviews were done at shows in Minnesota over last weekend.

A lot of good content about both Vektor and Ne Obliviscaris in them, including the new Vektor album of course, and Ne Obliviscaris upcoming tour plans in 2016, likely to include more dates in North America.

I actually was at the Vektor show on Friday night, but didn't make the Ne Obliviscaris show on Sunday. But it was great to recall/hear about both them here.

Ne Obliviscaris - Citadel (2014-2015)

10/27/14 1:30PM
Whole Album Up to Stream Here

I have not had the chance to check it out, and may not until late tonight possibly. Odd (even dark) day too today, as music is the furthest thing from my mind unfortunately, here at work today.

But maybe this and the Other Country Ensemble show at the Black Dog Cafe will help distract me later.

10/9/14 1:27PM
Full Song Streaming Here

"Pyrrhic"

sounds nice, although very blastbeat heavy again. I really hope the blast beats are tamed down a bit with this. The composition sounds quite nice though. Great/Gorgeous Outro.

9/23/14 12:36PM
Stream Here "Reveries from the Stained Glass Womb"

nice, all acoustic instrumental part. It's really a movement rather than an entire song of course.

NEW SONG #2 from our new album 'Citadel' is online now!
We present to you 'Reveries From The Stained Glass Womb'. Part 3 of the 23 minute song 'Painters Of The Tempest' that forms the centrepiece of our new album 'Citadel' out on November 7 (Nov 11th US).
This is the final part of the song and it follows straight after 'Part 2, Movement 3: Curator' that was the first excerpt from our new album released online earlier this month. We definitely feel that 'Painters Of The Tempest in its entirety is our most ambitious work to date and Part 3, featuring only acoustic guitar and violin and showcasing a completely different side to the band, is something we are particular proud of.

9/6/14 11:03AM

Sorry for the delay as this was shared a few days ago. Been dealing with a flare up and other time-occupying things of course.

Stream "Curator" here per Season of the Mist's Soundcloud

Digging this new track a lot, maybe more than I expected; which is part of that 23-minute suite/epic "Painters of the Tempest."

I just pre-ordered the colored vinyl even, lol.

Here are the links the band shared on their post on Facebook.

I'm excited for this record certainly, and the 1st with their new drummer? if I recall. And they have a pozible.com crowd funding campaign still going on to help fund a tour which if I recall, already met their goal with at least a few weeks left.

One sort of semantics note for myself, this record will not be included in my 2013-2014 Season-ending Countdown per the release date being after Halloween. So, in-effect, this is the 1st official record for 2014-2015 to anticipate that has a title and release date (Team Me sort of qualifies as well, but given their album comes out in a few weeks in Japan and Norway, they likely won't).

But as far as the title, artwork, etc..doesn't seem surprising, or repulsive; yet  nothing it doesn't seem shocking or that different compared to Portal of I.

My biggest wish for this record is for the PRODUCTION and MIXING to not be so compressed and HOT. PoI I enjoy how clean at times it was sounded,, but it also at times seemed very loud and the amounts of layers sometimes hurt being able to hear the actual performances clearly, and how they come across.

Not so *hot* guys, and this record may eclipse your great debut LP by a lot.

We are extremely excited to announce that our new album 'CITADEL' is set for release on November 7/11th (US) through Season of Mist!

'Citadel' is everything we ever envisioned this band could one day become.

And we can't wait to share it with you all very soon.

2012 Mid Season Index

This is hardly a perfectly accurate list, even right now. This year, like last year, has been filled with for me, many days/weeks with not enough time to take-in albums I before 2011 especially, would have.

In other words, I look to catch up on a lot of music over the next 5 months or so, not only in LISTENING, but BLOGGING.

The keyword is HOPE though, as my schedule with work and the relationship I'm in has really hampered my ability to really write as much and as often as I mean to in here. Will it change? I hope (again the keyword). But I guess I can only assume it won't greatly, save for me taking a day off from work every couple of months for writing, and writing only.

The listening part tho, I wish I could explain, but basically, when you do work that in order to do production like you need to, often all focus should be on the work, and not adding any music. It's the ole right-brain left-brain. My newest position, and the work I've done, especially this year, has required more right-brain work.

I mean there's literally, probably 30 or more albums, I have not heard I mean to, or have only heard once or twice and can't exactly justify ranking high. Even the list below, a few of them I've only listened to a couple of times.

I do the whole Albums Index every year, looking for the cream of the crop. The Apes & Androids and Kaddisfly's, and know, I should require to hear many albums that don't come close to those. But in those cases, it did require time and effort. Sure, reviews can help, but given my taste, I know it's possible (if not likely) I need to do the hunting myself in order to pull those albums in. And with my change in time priorities especially in the last 18 months, it's really not been quite the same as I'm used to.

Not to mention television (watching) and movie reviews.

However, at least I do have a week off coming up soon, which in the near time, should help.

I will say, there still are a lot of records to make their way into this mix, just to name a few:

Emanuel & the Fear, The Reign of Kindo, Archive, Amanda Palmer & the Grand Theft Orchestra, Vuvuzela, The Age of Rockets (maybe if it comes out), Annuals (if it gets released), The Book of Right On, Brice Plays Drums, Bloc Party, Minus the Bear, The River Empires (if it comes out).

So this below should likely be a fair amount different come December.

Rateyourmusic's 2012 Index list

Edit: Some parts of this list may be edited (or reposted) just in due time as I tend to do with the rym list.

1. Pepe Deluxé - Queen of the Wave. Awesome record that's as addictive for it's flow as for it's energy and length. So many moments I enjoy, from the catchy "Go Supersonic" to the riffy "Night and Day."

This album is like a retro-scifi soundtrack being recorded with modern mastering. It so perfectly captures how cool some of those vintage tones and sounds came out in the late 60's and early 70's. I just fall for the romantic element of it.

I pretty much enjoy every moment on it. It's one of those albums I love to continue to play on a weekly if not daily basis. My experience of it being a go-to record is reminiscent of many other Highly played/Ranked albums, or Albums of the Year. That's what I hope for and look for among other things in a top album. If I keep going back to it and enjoying it, likely as much if not more than when I 1st heard it.

I bought it on CD and Vinyl even.

And I'll retract 1 thing I said earlier this year with its chances to be an Album of the Year, being doubtful. I'd say that's long gone. Its chances are highly likely now, since I've played it so many times and still love it.

I know a lot of other folks haven't been wow-ed by it, or even liked it much, but so be it. Is it campy? maybe, but I don't care. I found it a bit cheesy at 1st. But the damn thing just works so well track to track.

The handful of singers, the layers, the influences, the energy, even the story. The last track "Riders on the First Ark" totally works to end its telling of a story of sorts, which I guess it's based on.

I think this is a record I'll be listening to for years, even if the band never makes another album. It reminds me of the evolution or culmination of time and changes in developing a sound that works.

2. Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I. This is by default, better than more or less anything else I've heard this year. My initial impression of it was it almost sounded too much like Opeth, but after spending more time with it, I don't think it matters. The compositions, production, the use of violin of course adds a lot to the depth. It is a lengthly record being around 70 minutes, but it is definitely case of an album that flows well enough, the epic journey is more than worth the time it takes to get through it all. If I might compare it to another record, I'd say it has a lot of what I love from In Vain's classic debut album from 2007 The Latter Rain. You listen to this record and each song has those jaw-dropping moments that you always enjoy and look forward to. I think a great deal of how well it came out had to do with how long the band spent working on it, as of course all 3 of the songs on the Aurora Veil ep/demo are included and re-recorded and mastered.

3. Bend Sinister - Small Fame. I'll admit, I am cheating a bit here, having only heard this record 2-3 times via the stream online. It does drop this coming week anyway, and 3 of the tracks "On My Mind," "Give it a Rest," and "She Don't Give It Up" I have spent enough time with already before the online stream last week. But even with early impressions of the rest of it, I sense this is another record like their last album Stories of Brothers, Tales of Lovers where it is without a track to skip, and every song offers something to enjoy or look forward to.

"Quest for Love" I already sense is 1 of the best tunes they've ever written, very *epic* sort of in a Iron Maiden or Queen sort of way. " My Lady" "Don't You Know" "Hot Blooded Man" "Black Magic Woman" just re-scanning the track list and remembering, were some of the others that I'm already digging. Sound-wise it may not be a huge departure for the band, but the songwriting also isn't a departure, which is often all I hope for with an artist with their new album.

4. Gatherer - So Be It . A pleasant surprise coming from an endorsement from a native of down under, Kimbra. These guys have their own sound, which coming from the evolution of their sound from This City Sunrise, the band previous name. They know how to compose songs that incorporate harshness with beauty. Dynamics are a plenty. The drumming and vocal harmonies are among other parts which keep me going back to this album. Track-wise, the single "Regular Frontier" and "Thrive" may be the most accessible, although like a lot of great records, this one seems to have songs the more I hear them, the more I enjoy them, and notice new things about them to like.

5. House of Fools - Versus the Beast Consistently good throughout. It's been a long time coming for various reasons. I love Live and Learn, and while this is probably not quite as good an album as that, it is still more than good enough to have me going back to it and with each listening.

Will it help them catch-on like I always thought they could? I assume no. But that is status quo, save for they are still a band making music. I at least hope that can still happen.

Pretty much every track has something enjoyable. Specifically, the guitar solos, including some of House of Fools trademark southern-bluesy double (or triple even) solos, are perfectly placed and fit each song's mood. There's a bunch of them.

Song-wise, "Time" "Dogfight" and especially "Need to Be Free" stand out the most. Although, I'll admit the demo of "Need to Be Free" on Fresh Hot Shit, I may still prefer a little due to my love of fat, bubbly keys. But they added an interesting element by using a lot of vocal distortion. Some of the other songs that continue to grow for me include "Daylight," "Johnny Utah," "Another Place," "Oblivion," and "Pick or Choose."

here's the rest of my review on rym

6. Anathema - Weather Systems. I have enjoyed this album close to as much as their last proper record We're Here Because We're Here. Although admittedly, Anathema make rather melancholy music, that best works for the mood I desire, so often it doesn't become addictive right away.

But specifically, the moods, and the drum work are what I can say at this point, standing out. The "Untouchable" suite opening the album, and the closing piece "Internal Landscapes" are among the most memorable. Probably with the samples about the man claiming to experience dying I suppose helps.

This may end up higher than WHBWH due to my previous interest, hopes, etc for this record. Although I'm skeptical if I will find it better or even as good as its predecessor.

But with this album following WHBWH, Anathema have become one of the most interesting bands making college-prog of a sort today.

7. Ramona Falls - Prophet. "Spore" stands out as one of the best, most memorable tracks of 2012. I have that song in my head for hours after I hear it.

It couldn't be this galaxy is lifeless
I keep on searching for a sign Olly oxen free, my telescope is watching For any trace you leave behind"
.

"Take off the veil Let yourself be found. Ready or not, here-I-come."

That is the standout song on it, but I definitely find it shares in common with the 1st RF's record Intuit, not having a weak track. I suppose in a way, it's an album like that record, but includes 1 or 2 of the best songs Brent Knopf's ever written.

"Archimedes Plutonium," "Bodies of Water," "Brevony," "Proof," "Fingerhold," "If I Equals U," etc, all tracks that work here. I guess I enjoy some of the textures Brent used on this album, specifically the strings and keyboard patches.

Like House of Fools, I am pretty convinced the progressive rock scene will never latch on to them. For whatever reason, it just never happens. They're too college-rock sounding, or not technical enough, or something. But I suppose seeing it happen as often as I have, I've become accustomed to it and reminding myself and others of it in writing/talking about it. Maybe it'll become a fun sarcastic cliche? lol.

8. Lehto & Wright - November. Not as jaw-dropping as 2010's Children's Songs, but this still includes more than enough music to compare favorably with the rest of their extensive catalog. Even the Bob Marley and Bob Dylan covers, "Redemption Song" and "Tom Joad."

They didn't leave their proggy side either with the opening suite "The Humors of Tuaimgreine / RakishPadddy / The Callahan Stomp" along with the closing piece "Dominion of the Sword." Really nice dynamics and guitar work on both of those.

9. Josh Benash - The Dismal; The Beautiful

Pretty impressed how trippy, layered, experimental, yadayada, this album is. Not too surprising, given how outside the box a lot of Kiss Kiss's music is. But this definitely differs in enough good ways.

Lots of humor, and surreal parts are going to give me enough reason to go back to this a lot early in the year.

10 The Mars Volta - Noctourniquet

I am on board with this more than any record they've made since Frances. Some of the best vocal lines Cedric has ever come up with. The electronic element adds something, and the lack of clipping cymbals along with lack of repetitive-ness helps this one a lot.

11 Umbrella Tree - To the Memory of a Once Great Man

I enjoy a fair amount of this experimental electronic dark-pop. Nice saxophone, and an intriguing story. Nice blend of male and female vocals. I believe Timbre may have participated again with this.

This album actually was made thanks to a Kickstarter campaign which I was a supporter of. Enough so, the band thanked all those who put in enough for the Vinyl which it and a compact disc release I recall is expected sometime later this year.

12 Sucré - A Minor Bird

sublime, tasteful, very nice orchestral arrangements. "No Return" may be my favorite track, early on.

13 Diablo Swing Orchestra - Pandora's Piñata

14 Northern Abbey - Northern Abbey [EP]

Much in the vein of The River Empires. Sublime.

15 Forest Park - Forest Park [EP]

Terrific atmosphere. This is a side-project, I guess from some of the members of Portland, OR-based Chamber rock group Typhoon. After listening to this enough, I'm not sure if I don't like this more.

a 3-track, 24 or so minute EP.

16 Mercies - The Ballet[EP]

Awe-some

17 Memoryhouse - The Slideshow Effect

Like their debut EP, this is still dreamy and catchy. "The Kids Were Wrong" maybe the most accessible.

18 Crippled Black Phoenix - (Mankind) The Crafty Ape

Epic record, and not one I've been able to digest fully at this point. It doesn't stray all that much from their other albums, with the infectious blend of Ennio Morricone and Pink Floyd influences. With Floyd, the Meddle-era seems to be notice-able as much as any. I do still feel this band/project, which is related to, among others, Mogwai, has taken the baton from the likes of Clann ZĂş and Murder by Death in doing progressive rock of a sort that emphasizes country/western music effectively. Too bad those other two aren't anymore.

19 Rush - Clockwork Angels

a pleasant surprise.

20 Jazzkamikaze - The Return of JazzKamikaze

Pretty much back to their purely jazz/jazz-rock roots. Has not blown me away, but still enjoyable enough.

Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I #1 on rateyourmusic.com !

rateyourmusic.com 2012 Chart

Yes!. Take that Hipsters! and your substance-less, Kacica-wannabe band Beach House. (or Apes and Androids wannabes Japandroids)

Ne Obliviscaris just brought some justice to your list.

Of course we'll see, but don't be surprised if a bunch of Non-Metal listening/P4K lemmings go and downrate it.

But for now, like Pepe Deluxe and Anathema earlier this year, an actual album that warrants being on top, is.

Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I (2012)

5/12/12 1:06PM

this link on bandcamp supposedly will have the album finally available for those outside of the Australia and New Zealand. And I would imagine a FULL ALBUM STREAM. But as of 1:06PM CST, it doesn't appear to be. Just preorders and the 2 tracks streaming.

5/9/12 11:45AM

Here's a few comments from forums and fb/twitter. I'll try and add more in time.

if you enjoy Opeth you almost owe it to yourself to listen to Ne Obliviscaris and their new album "Portal of I" which drops officially worldwide on Saturday May 12th.

Overall a great record. I'm kind of going back and forth about how I feel about it tho, just 1 time hearing it. On 1 hand, there's a ton of moments to always look forward to. On the other hand, they almost do channel Opeth more than I expected. And overall, you take in an album this long, a lot of it for various reasons resembles a certain sound. In other words, there's not a vast variety of sound to it. But I'm not sure that may matter.

But if you were to describe it, your description on Epic Rock Talk a few months back of "Opeth with Violin" seems more direct to me now.

I guess with time, more distinction will come.

http://rateyourmusic.com/charts/top/album/2012

I am hoping by some chance it'll receive a high enough rating early on, it'll knock off that hipster record by Beach House from rateyourmusic.com soon. But then what may almost expectedly happen, the hipsters will go and downrate it to 1/2-star just to try and get Beach House back up to the #1 spot, lol.

NE OBLIVISCARIS UNVEIL TITLE/ARTWORK/TRACK LIST FOR FORTHCOMING ALBUM!
With our album finally set to be mastered this week after a lengthy recording process, and then a lengthy mixing process with Jens Bogren (we're not good at doing things quickly it seems...have you noticed?), we're finally getting close to being able to let you all hear the final result of our years of hard work. So with that in mind, we thought we'd start to give you a bit more information about our debut album!

First of all, we have given it the title 'PORTAL OF I'. More than anything else, this album was for us a long epic journey, personally and musically, and throughout its creation we've experienced some of the best times in our lives and some of the worst. The portal this album creates for each of us in NeO is significant and pronounced, and whilst every person will experience this album differently, we hope that it also provides each of you with your own portal journeying into the musical world we've created.

Secondly, artwork for 'Portal Of I' has been completed by our vocalist Xenoyr. Here is the front cover for you all to check out! This album is full of complexities, and encompasses many shades of dark and light and we feel this artwork really reflects 'Portal Of I' well.

Lastly, here is the tracklist for 'Portal of I'. The album features 7 songs, and is just over 71 minutes in length. All of the songs are quite different and distinct and we can't wait for you to hear them all!

1. Tapestry of the Starless Abstract (12:01)
2. Xenoflux (10:01)
3. Of the Leper Butterflies (5:52)
4. Forget Not (12:04)
5. And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope (11:35)
6. As Icicles Fall (9:24)
7. Of Petrichor Weaves Black Noise (10:43)

When's the official release date? Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks!

NeO

Fucking Finally!

How it's coming out? format? release date? yeah, that stuff still needs to be announced, but wow, I am pretty floored for this now. Although, on the surface it looks a fair amount like the Averse debut album from last year. But I always have thought these guys were a bit better than them, even with the abundance of extensive songs. I'm totally giving them the benefit of the doubt here.

Bring this sucker on. Could be the Metal album of the year, easily actually. Can't wait to find out in a short while.

Ne Obliviscaris drummer leaves

facebook post

not really something to be happy about, but I'd presume it's for the best and the band will find a new drummer hopefully soon. The more pressing thing right now, beyond Ben finally rejoining his bandmates down under in a few days, is when the debut album comes out. It seems likely they are waiting for a reasonable offer from a record label to finalize that. Hopefully early in 2012 it'll be announced if not sooner.

Ne Obliviscaris Part Ways With Drummer Dan Presland

“Hey Everyone,

We’re sad to announce that we have parted ways with our drummer, Dan Presland. Dan has been part of NeO since 2005, and has played a big part in the bands formative years, from our demo recording, ‘The Aurora Veil’ in 2007, through many gigs and tours and finishing off with the recording of our forthcoming album ‘Portal Of I’.

As disappointing as it is that Dan will no longer be a part of Ne Obliviscaris, this is something that has been coming for a while. As with any relationship, sometimes over time people just grow in different directions with what they want out of the band and in life, and so seeing that, Dan has decided to move on and focus his time on other things. We’d like to thank Dan for all that he has contributed to NeO and we wish him all the best for the future!

We don’t expect this news to have any impact on the pending release of our album ‘Portal Of I'. We have already started rehearsing with another drummer and with Benjamin finally arriving back in Australia this Thursday, December 15, after finally winning his long visa battle, we are really looking forward to releasing this album and doing many a tour behind it in 2012!

Ne Obliviscaris - TBA (2011)

9/16/11 8:35AM

rather promising, but still not 100% certain update (no title, track list, label, release date YET.)

Just got an email from Jens Bogren saying that our album should be ready to master on Monday or Tuesday! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm bumping this entry mainly due to how frequently over the last couple of months the band have been posting on facebook. It sounds like mixing on the yet to be announced-titled debut album should be finished this week.

And presumably, the obvious details about it should come soon after, probably most importantly, how and when it'll be released. Given the frequency and that stuff could come so soon, the odds seem good it'll be released by the end of the year (mid-November likely). If not, sometime in early 2012 (like many others it sounds like).

But for now, it's good to get down the anticipation of this long-awaited information rather soon; esepcially given everything they've gone through and how good this record could potentially be. The Aurora Veil ep/demo is *that* good itself.

NE OBLIVISCARIS ALBUM BEING MIXED/MASTERED BY JENS BOGREN; ALBUM UPDATE & TEASER TRACK

Hey everyone,

Well we are very excited to say that the Ne Obliviscaris album has finally been completed (!) and is being sent off to Fascination Street Studios, Sweden TODAY to be mixed and mastered by one of the world's best metal producers/engineers JENS BOGREN… who some of you may know through his work with such amazing bands as Opeth, Katatonia, Ihsahn, Amon Amarth & Devin Townsend! The album couldn't be in better hands. To finally have this album fully recorded is an amazing feeling. We have had more set backs than we could possibly imagine and it has definitely been tough for us to stay positive all the time, but we thank you all for your continued support and patience. Hopefully when this album is finally released you feel it was worth the wait.

In other news, we recently uploaded a short album teaser to youtube here:

This is the unmixed intro from the song ‘And Plague Flowers The Kaleidoscope’ which will feature on the album. Make sure you go check it out, and hopefully we’ll have some more stuff to show you shortly.

In regards to our lead guitarist, Benjamin Baret’s, visa appeal, unfortunately we are still awaiting a decision from the Migration Review Tribunal here in Australia. Benjamin has been in France since last September and we all miss him so much. Everyone who has met him would agree that he’s the nicest guy in the whole world, and is undoubtedly an incredible musician that we feel so fortunate to have in this band. As soon as we have any further news, we’ll be sure to let you know. Thanks to the 3000+ people from more than 60 countries that signed petitions supporting our appeal! For those that haven’t yet, please head to:

http://www.gopetition.com/petition/40983.html

We’ll be submitting these signatures very soon, so if everyone can please spread the word one final time that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again for all your continued support. It’s amazes us that people care so much about this band considering we’ve only released a 3 song demo, and that way back in April 2007. We are incredibly proud of the album that we’ve created, and can’t wait to finally unleash it to the world sometime in the second half of 2011. Stay tuned!

Ne Obliviscaris

Good news, although album title, track list, artwork and release date is still pending. But the odds of this coming out this year look even better now, and hopefully Ben Baret's ability to return to Australia.

This is going to have to be edited/elaborated in the nexx X number of hours as I am about to head out. But this piece of news I just saw them post on Facebook is VERY encouraging.

Ne Obliviscaris
Getting things ready to send the album off to get mixed in the next week or two.... should we fill you in on who is mixing the album yet? Any guesses on who you think it might be?

I haven't mentioned much about them and their guitarist Benjamin Barret, but for those who don't know, he was forced out of Australia for various unfair reasons really. But I'll post something more about that soon.

edit: I may have already posted something a few months ago about that, but if not, more will be added about it and them along with this soon.

Ne Obliviscaris needs your HELP!

This is what I've posted on the forums:

This band from Australia are really good, but have yet to to release their 1st full-length album. It's almost entirely recorded, mixed, etc, but they have yet to decide on HOW to release it..i.e. the right record label, etc.

Well, their future may be in doubt.
Save Ne Obliviscaris! (An Open letter Re: Benjamin Baret's Australian Visa Rejection)

their guitarist isn't a native of Australia, and the Immigration people aren't at this time seeing his reasons for staying in Australia to be valid enough.

The more signatures on the petition, obviously the better.

In the mean time, I would suggest others around here to check out their incredible "Aurora Veil" ep/demo.

That Aurora Veil EP/Demo is awesome and really shows a ton of potential. And I have mentioned them a few times in this blog in the past I recall, since discovering my interest in them back in March.

So, it would totally suck if they weren't able to at least release this debut record of theirs, especially due to this Visa issue.

Although, 100Ft Snowman, Eroica, Grammatics, Apes and Androids, Stiletto Formal, Fields, etc, etc, etc... this kind of circumstance seems to happen, like I've said before, nearly every month if not more often. I really hope this band doesn't become another casualty, especially from something as silly as a Visa/Immigration issue.
