I just wanted to bump this as the album is released finally today.
Here's Amazon's link
And I saw the film actually the other night at The Riverview Theater, which was beautiful yet incredibly heart-wrenching.
Per time of course, I should try and film a video or 2 about Cloud Cult, 1 about The Seeker album and especially the film.
The other, hopefully about their history/my history, which is somewhat well documented in this blog, but obviously not on YouTube.
This new album and the film has gotten me back thinking about them the last few days. I'd say maybe what I just wrote on their Facebook Wall has something to do with that.
here
hey, I just wanted to congratulate you guys on Album release day today.
And seeing the film the other night. I honestly cannot get many parts
of it out of my head. Namely "You Never Were Alone," totally gets me
every-time I hear it now. That scene in the film where Grace is running
and seeing her dad is breathtaking.
I was in tears at the theater the other night, and still find myself in
the same way when listening to it.
You guys may have written and filmed one of the saddest/most melancholy
things I've ever come across.

Stream "Through the Ages"
Really good tune. I haven't been able to even see every update via the Pledgemusic campaign that I should have due to time and discipilne, but I mean, namely during the week I have off coming up in a little over a week. But I'm pretty excited for this record and film, more than I was before.
10/23/15 6:10AM
Story with Stream to "No Hell"
It also says Josh Radnor of How I Met Your Mother, will be in the film, which has no dialogue. I imagine it'll be a bit like the Marillion Brave film, with the music on with the actors going through the story. That story has some quotes from Craig Minowa and the story or concept behind The Seeker being about the life of a girl.
Josh Radnor of course, is a noted big fan of Cloud Cult, so that doesn't come as a huge surprise.
"No Hell" of course, also is download-able with a preorder/pledge.
10/22/15 2:07PM
The Seeker, Looks and sounds intriguing, I doubt it has any reference to the song by The Who though. The Seeker is coming out in multiple formats, including for the 1st time ever, VINYL (recycled..CC have been noted as to against Vinyl per the environmental issues that the manufacturing can create, but maybe Recycled is more friendly?..I'd love to see/purchase a lot of their more recent albums, on recycled vinyl at least..Light Chasers namely).
A New song is coming tomorrow 10/23, so I'll have to bump/edit this entry when that happens tomorrow.
February 2016 is when this sucker drops though. I did *love* a number of tracks on their last record Love from 2013...Pretty excited.

The media market is huge, thus the need for a media review market.
This is our little contribution to that field.

Marillion: LP #18 coming in 2016. (Pledgemusic)
9/1/15 2:03PM
Not too much to add, other than, despite financial planning, I can't see myself not preordering this thing. The interview below talks a little about it and their history with preorders (and how they more or less INVENTED IT..sorry Radiohead).
And the touring they plan to do, largely with from this campaign. But their plan is to tour North America again., so, I hope to go, despite what financial plans I may have to run into.
We'll see I guess, but in the mean time, I'm looking forward to next Spring for this thing.

Well it’s that time again. You’ve been asking us when you can pre-order the next Marillion album. That time is now!
As you know, we have spent much of the year holed up at our studio, The Racket Club, jamming, writing and recording. It’s still early days but the initial jams are sounding like we really have the potential for something truly outstanding. There’s still a lot of work to be done and we can’t be sure when we’ll have it finished but our hope is that our 18th studio album (as yet untitled) will be ready for release some time in early 2016.
We’d like to offer you, the ever-faithful, the chance to pre-order it now. This time, however, we are excited to announce that our pre-order campaign will be bigger and better! It has become obvious to us however that this campaign has outgrown what we can achieve alone.
Marillion who, with your help, literally invented “Crowdfunding” (or “the Direct to Fan” model now so prevalent in the music business) back in 1997, have decided to join forces with the new masters of the art, PledgeMusic.
We consider PledgeMusic to be the best of the crowdfunding companies and have decided, after much thought and many meetings, that PledgeMusic offers the band and our fans the most exciting possibilities. Albums sold through PledgeMusic are chart-eligible giving Marillion a shot at a good chart position.
PledgeMusic have offices worldwide with many more staff than Racket and will make the entire process more manageable and, we are assured, even more customer-friendly than the high standard of service we normally provide.
As you will see, this also gives us the means to add even more items and experiences for you to choose from. We hope this campaign will raise more money than ever before so that we can fund a marketing campaign deserving of our album across many territories. This campaign will also aim to finance a longer and more impressive tour enabling us to reach more of you with a knockout show production.
PledgeMusic have the same level of great customer service that we pride ourselves on and totally understand the relationship that we have with our fans, so you can order with the knowledge that you are in safe hands.
We hope that you will be as excited as we are at this news and we thank you, as always, for your love and extraordinary support. Many bands say it, but WE know it. We have the best fans in the world. After all, together we started this thing!

Jaco: A Documentary Film

I'm failing to find an Embed Code for the actual Video unfortunately, but so be it. It says the project for this to come out will be Record Store Day 2015 in April.
Just preordered/pledged.
Also the BBC Audio Documentary should be linked below on Similar Entries, and for those who haven't listened to it, it's well worth checking out when time allows.
http//www.pledgemusic.com/projects/jacothefilm
Hola everyone, thanks for checking out our project. Jaco has always been a hero of mine and one of the reasons I play bass to this day. This film has been a project of love and passion for me. This amazing film has been four years in the making, and we need your help to get this film across the finish line!
Our film tells the story of Jaco Pastorius, a self-taught, larger than life musician who made an undeniable impact on music, and reinvented the electric bass; giving the instrument a powerful dynamic voice that had both edge and beauty.
We have assembled an offering of exclusives with PledgeMusic that reflect the documentary and draw upon some of Jaco’s friends and admirers. Pledge and become part of the journey of making this film a reality.
- Rob
Produced by Metallica’s Robert Trujillo in association with Passion Pictures, the film includes some incredible insights from an array of artists (Flea, Joni Mitchell, Sting, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Geddy Lee, Bootsy Collins, Carlos Santana) as well as Jaco’s family, and friends. It unveils the story of his music, his life, his demise, and ultimately the fragility of great artistic genius.

New video for "I Won't Blame You."
2/13/13 11:59AM
http://www.revereonline.co.uk/

new single "I Won't Blame You" is available to stream there on their website. Absolutely addictive song. Love the 2nd half, little intricate parts. The style is to be fully honest, somewhat different from a lot of the Hey Selim stuff, but I totally am on board with that!
I swear I posted something about it a few months ago when they announced the title post-Pledgemusic campaign back last year, but I can't find it.
Anyway, if this latest track is any indication (along with "Keep This Channel Open" the other early single), this album could make some noise in my 2013 Album countdown come June/July and December.
edit: if the website doesn't work. A video should be coming soon I guess.

The Dear Hunter: The Symphony
http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thedearhunter
yeah no embed code from what I can tell, not surprised though.
I'm a bit preoccupied with more significant issues right now (my gf's mom being in the Hospital mainly) to even go in-depth about any extra (speculative) thoughts about this; and everything that somehow happened the last time I talked about TDH in here (for better or for worse). But I'll at least say, this sounds cool, although I'm not totally surprised given how a lot of TDH's music has the symphonic/chamber/baroque element to it anyway.
Do I worry the goal won't be met? I guess we'll see, but TDH have enough of a worldwide fanbase, rabid enough, to want to support this thing. And Casey does do well using social media anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the Goal was met, somewhat early. It's already over 20% and this thing launched just a couple of hours ago.
Thanks for visiting me here. With 5 full length records, including 36-song rock opera “The Color Spectrum” and most recently “Migrant” under my belt as The Dear Hunter, I am setting out on my next endeavor.
To write and record a Symphony with a full orchestra is a MAJOR undertaking, and comes with a tremendous financial commitment. The Symphony will consist of 4 movements and will be recorded by the BRNO Orchestra in the Czech Republic this November.
I am calling for your help, the fans, to support me in this venture, and make a truly memorably piece of music, and make a statement in the music community.
Most importantly, I’d like you to be a part of this journey……
I’m really looking forward to my first ever Symphony and for you to be right there with me the entire time.

Josh Rouse - The Happiness Waltz (2013) (Pledgemusic)
http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/joshrouse/
Well, another one of these campaigns of course, but certainly for a worthy artist like Josh Rouse, whose another one of my girlfriends favorites, but I caught onto. I like a handful of his tunes, and the Nashville record especially.
It says it's coming in March (19th according to the story below), so add it to the growing list of early 2013 records. He's as 13% right now, hopefully that number will go up soon. The campaign has 60 days left, although as evidenced with Revere's, campaigns can get extended.
http://www.yeproc.com/josh-rouse-returns-with-new-album-the-happiness-waltz-set-for-march-release
Josh Rouse returns with new album THE HAPPINESS WALTZ set for March release.
.........................................................
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Josh Rouse will release his new album, The Happiness Waltz, on March 19 of next year. Sonically, The Happiness Waltz takes a trip back into Rouse’s early-2000’s period, a time when so many of his longtime fans really came on board. A number of the new tracks could easily find a home on the AM radio of the late 1970’s, nestled between some of the biggest songs of the day. Lyrically, The Happiness Waltz is very much an album in the present, featuring some of Rouse’s most personal songs to date. Rouse reunites with producer Brad Jones, who produced and engineered two of his most beloved albums, 1972 (2003) and Nashville (2005). The Happiness Waltz was recorded in Valencia, Spain at Josh’s studio Rio Bravo; with overdubs and mixing completed at Alex The Great in Nashville, TN.
After nine acclaimed studio albums, residing all over the U.S. and touring the world, Rouse found his muse for The Happiness Waltz in what is most near and dear to him, his new family. In 2005, the Nebraska native moved to Spain, where he now spends the majority of his time with his wife and two young children. The thoughts and perspective gained from his experience as a husband and father pervades the 12 songs that make up The Happiness Waltz.
The Happiness Waltz is filled with Rouse’s thoughtful, delicate and infectious pop craft, a sound that has become his signature. The subtle grooves of “It’s Good To Have You” and “Julie (Come Out Of The Rain)” blend seamlessly with the poignant “The Ocean” and “Our Love” and the jovial “A Lot Like Magic” and “City People and City Things”. The common thread running throughout The Happiness Waltz is derived from a newfound wisdom that can only be the result of life-changing transitions. For Rouse, it is his loved ones who have provided the inspiration.
In a time when music careers come and go faster than ever, there is something to be said for an artist who has maintained a level of consistent quality output, building a solid body of work that spans over 15 years. The Happiness Waltz is a sure sign that Josh Rouse will not be ending that streak anytime soon.

Revere - Pledgemusic Campaign
8/14/12 10:03AM
3 days left + 32% still to go. C'mon @REVERE fans, they need your help to make what surely will be an awesome new album! http://www.pledgemusic.com/artists/revere
they just added another update/video go check it out and consider pledging.
8/3/12 5:57AM
Bumping this thread as they are still looking to achieve their goal on pledgemusic.com They are are 56% with 14 days left. They did something cool by sharing the 1st of 5 parts of a soundtrack .
And it sounds sublime, but it's Revere, so I'm hardly surprised. But I sure hope they get a push the last 2 weeks here so they can reach their goal and make this next record of theirs. If you don't know them, check out their debut album Hey Selim! or any of their singles on Youtube, Spotify, Grooveshark. and you find it's worth helping them out to make this next record.
Also they have a new song up called "Keep This Channel Open" on their Reverb Nation page which is different, but really intriguing.

EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD: Revere scored Film Soundtrack... 1/5
about 1 hour ago
During the recording of Hey! Selim, Stephen composed the score for a debut short film by writer and director Maurizio Von Trapp, which was recorded and mixed with Hey! Selim producer, Dave Moore. The film, “1 or 2 Things I Don’t Know About Him” portrayed a conversation between two lovers on Hampstead Heath…
As an exclusive free download to Pledgers we will be offering all five pieces composed for this soundtrack throughout the day…

REVERE have written an album’s worth of new material, some of which we’ve been playing live over the last few months. We’re itching to get back in to the studio so we can get these new songs to you as quickly as possible, but we need your help to do it…
So far, REVERE have been able to do everything we do thanks to the ongoing and massively generous support of YOU, our fans and friends, who have helped fund, record, film and starred in several of our music videos as well as made our first album, Hey! Selim a reality.
But for this, our second album we want to do something REALLY AMBITIOUS and we really want you to be a part of it, from start to finish! Achieving the 100% target of this Pledge campaign will get us well on our way, and we’re more than grateful for any and all contributions, but the more we raise the further we can go into achieving something really exciting, so please don’t stop at the 100% mark…
We’ll be updating you throughout the process so you can literally watch and listen the songs develop and morph into the final versions which will grace the album…
Once more, thank you so much! Your support literally does mean everything to us…!

not finding en EMBED code for the video there, but this Youtube version hopefully will work.
I pledged the "Signed Set list" option the other day. Interesting the differences in this site, Pledgemusic.com and Kickstarter. It seems they give more options at identical pledge amounts, and perhaps even more TIME to reach your support goal.
I'm not sure if the fact Revere are from the UK has anything to do with why they used that site. But regardless, they are seemingly headed towards their goal at 31% with 87 days left.
Hey Selim! took a long time to come out, and was pretty impressive for a debut album. Although I do think they are a band I personally could like even more, as well as a lot more people just to hear. Their music is accessible enough. But it all depends on exposure, timing and expectations I guess.
3 days left + 32% still to go. C'mon @REVERE fans, they need your help to make what surely will be an awesome new album! http://www.pledgemusic.com/artists/revere
they just added another update/video go check it out and consider pledging.

Ours - Pledgemusic Campaign
8/5/12 3:54PM
it's on the Ours Facebook, but also (for) now stream-able on Youtube. I dig it (despite it sort of sounding Post-Rock ish), or much of it, although the finished version I suspect won't last 11:52 but more around the 9 minute mark. I haven't heard live versions of it in awhile, but forget if they played it a few weeks ago at The 400 Bar (I don't remember them doing so).
The campaign is finally launched, and in the 1st day they've already reached 26% of their Target Goal.
I'd add more, but I sadly don't have the time right now. I will just add, the pledge info is a little off. The $55 level is not actually accurate if you want a signed cd copy of the new album. They add $20 on for that. I'm cool with that, but I just think they shouldn't advertise it without that part of the description (and the actual PRICE).
Also no Vinyl it appears, is unfortunate, but I suspect that will become available at some point given Jimmy's solo stuff has.
Edit: Now a Vinyl has been added. Shoot, I hope (gotta believe) I can change my pledge. I guess between a lyric sheet and a signed vinyl, espe saving a bit, I'll take the signed Vinyl for now.

from the latest newsletter
Hello Friends,
We are about to launch our first ever Pledge campaign to raise money for our next record. To learn more about how you can participate and download a preview of new OURS material, click HERE
-Jimmy
so it's Pledgemusic (and not Kickstarter). Which I think Pledgemusic may be European-based given Revere is using it. I'm not sure why Jimmy/Ours would use it then, but so be it. I am glad to see him MENTION it, not show it already launched (unlike EvaRusnik and many others who seemed to have just launched it, without passing the word along for awhile about it coming up, 1st).
Also in regards to Black Card Events:
6/28/12 Boston, MA Johnny D’s
6/29/12 Buffalo, NY Mohawk Place
7/1/12 Columbus, OH Kobo Live
7/2/12 Indianapolis, IN Birdy’s
7/5/12 Detroit, MI Shelter
7/6/12 Chicago, IL Ultra Lounge
7/8/12 Milwaukee, WI Summerfest
7/10/12 Minneapolis, MN 400 bar
7/11/12 Des Moines, IA Vaudeville Mews
7/13/12 Kansas City, MO Czar Bar
7/14/12 St Louis, MO Firebird
7/16/12 Nashville, TN 12th & Porter
7/17/12 Charlotte, NC Milestone
7/19/12 Washington DC U Street Music Hall
7/20/12 New York, NY Studio @ Webster Hall
Ours Black Card holders, please check-in at merch for meet & greet and stayed tuned for details on soundcheck access at select shows.
so, if a Meet and Greet and/or Soundcheck happens at the show coming up on July 10th in Minneapolis, I'll have access.

The upcoming tour is titled "The Ballet the Boxer tour," so that may indicate the title of this upcoming record. Another Ours album is a HUGE deal to me and the dedicated fans of them and Jimmy Gnecco. I'm not sure about the logistics about this campaign, and based on it, when this record may get released. For some reason, I wonder if it's more likely in 2013 given this thing is just about to be launched now. But I'm sure given a chance to chat with Jimmy and the others next month at the 400 Bar, I'll get to learn more about it then if not sooner.
As far as the preview of "Devil" I have yet to hear it, although I recall hearing it live I think. And there's a few other new tunes live on Youtube including 1 song titled "Surrender."
What that means as far as the bevy of tunes Jimmy has played live that have yet to be recorded or released like "Living In a Video" or "Wished For None," etc, maybe those will come out on a solo record or maybe some will be on this, some will be on his next solo record. It'll be interesting to find out soon though.
