Between the Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
From a concise/tight/concrete songwriting approach, I don't think the band ever made anything as well-crafted.
When I got into BTBAM in 2007, it was mostly about Colors. But Alaska has always been a relatively close 2nd, and this track is the climax of that album.
Great guitar harmonizing, great segues, and great flow.
And yes, along with Burst, a band who took the King Crimson"Three of a Perfect Pair" interval pattern/riff and ran with it to make perfection.
The Lost in Vegas guys just did a Reaction video to their 1st BTBAM song, "The Coma Machine," and I cannot stress how much better this tune would have been,
The media market is huge, thus the need for a media review market.
This is our little contribution to that field.

Lost in Vegas - Rush-2112 REACTION
A lot of people have seen this already, and I commented on Twitter earlier about it.
I enjoyed this one a ton as I have with all of their Rush videos and many others.
The only issue is the edits for copyright concerns.
I mentioned they should check out the ANIMATED VIDEO that Rush themselves shared a few years ago.
Thanks for making this! This was a ton of fun!, even with having to edit some spots. I would suggest listening to 2112 without edits soon, and actually a great way to do that would be with the ANIMATED VIDEO: https://t.co/NrZTxGxMZU https://t.co/AmGJSGpyhc— AllMediaReviews (@AllMediaReviews) July 7, 2018
And then I added another post on twitter tagging them and Rush that echos a ton of comments in support of them making a REACT TO video for Natural Science.
@lostinvegas83 I will echo many requests in the 2112-Reaction video, for your next @rushtheband Reaction Video, NATURAL SCIENCE. would be awesome. I find it simply a perfectly composed piece of music.— AllMediaReviews (@AllMediaReviews) July 7, 2018
It is awesome they love Rush so much, and some of the comments asked about them reacting to some other names in progressive rock. Yes of course (Roundabout, which might make sense, although someone suggested Heart of the Sunrise which would be my suggestion).
And so I chimed in about Genesis and King Crimson which I thought they may have done a video for 21st Century Schizoid Man, but I'm not sure. They could react to Starless or Red I suppose if so.

Lost in Vegas - Reacts to RUSH - WORKING MAN
Another funny and smile-inducing Rush song reaction video. These guys are GOLD with more or less any prog or metal videos. My only beef is it sounded like some of the version they heard was edited, but so be it.
Keep em coming guys!
"The Trees" would be AWESOME!
also 2112 (The Overture + The Temples of Syrinx sections)
I'd love to request/suggest some others, but many that come to mind (Natural Science for 1) are probably TOO LONG for them. But if they keep loving Rush, who knows?

LOST IN VEGAS: YouTube Channel
Lost in Vegas on YouTube
I think I shared the Dream Theater - Metropolis Reaction video from these guys a few weeks ago in here (if I didn't I should still). I know I did on Social Media.
Anyway, these guys are 1 of my newest addictions. In short, it's 2 Black dudes checking out songs live in front of the camera, for the most part un-edited, etc often for the 1st time.
And maybe most significant is they are Reacting (and Reviewing in some cases) a lot of Metal including prog and extreme Metal.
Gojira, Opeth, Ne Obliviscaris, Avenged Sevenfold, Meshuggah, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Slayer, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath are among the Metal songs they've made Reaction videos to.
I guess their backgrounds musically is Hip-Hop/Rap and some RandB, but they both seem really open-minded and are finding to enjoy a lot of the stuff I and many others enjoy.
Now if you look at their Video History and daily/weekly videos, they do react and review a lot of Hip-Hop and other styles, but I get the sense from the large number of requests, Metal has become a much bigger part of their channel than maybe they intended it to be when they launched it some 7 or 8 months ago.
And they have like 184 Thousand Subscribers, lol.
Myself, who doesn't upload nearly as often, is struggling to get to 100 Subscribers after nearly 3 years, LOL.
But, I really enjoy their channel even with what seems like an overnight snowball success story. They're just funny and entertaining as hell, especially for the songs or artists I know about.
Really, this might be the best YouTube Channel discovery for me since MinistryofMusic (at least since he left). I am curious to see every day what song they may React and Review.
Also their polls on Twitter are cool. They did 1 recently to React to 1 song from 1 of 4 artists (Rush was in there), and it turned out to be Led Zeppelin who won. And they said they want to React to a non-radio/popular track, so not Stairway to Heaven. I mentioned Achilles Last Stand. I guess we'll see what it is. I'm awfully curious regardless per my love/fandom for Zeppelin anyway.
Also there's another channel I discovered the other day, that I may have to share in here if it ends up being like Lost in Vegas, which I suspect it may in some ways.

Lost in Vegas REACT TO: Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 1
Props for checking them out and creating a poll of which song to check out.
The basketball analogy actually makes a fair amount of sense.
The thing is though, and they explained they did no research about Dream Theater. But the technicality IS THE ENTERTAINMENT.
And when you listen to a song like this over some time, what sounds and seems overwhelming, becomes actually somewhat listen-able and you get to understand what and why they wrote this song the way they did.
I've heard Metropolis Part 1 probably 300 or more times, and for me, it's not actually overly complex, but just very well composed. The shrink-and-grow section especially.
I'd be curious to hear their take on something like Spawn of Possession, uneXpect or SikTh and they might feel Dream Theater is somewhat tame in complexity.
But none the less, props to these guys for checking this out and they definitely give a good take about what Dream Theater is about, it's just for people who enjoy hearing this kind of music, their reaction isn't necessarily the same.
I suppose while Metropolis does represent Dream Theater in a lot of ways very well, I would have liked to have heard their reaction to a song like "Blind Faith" "A Change of Seasons" or "Scarred"..or even say "The Spirit Carries On' or "Solitary Shell" if they want the song shorter. They might be surprised it is the same band.
But it's obvious this kind of music isn't their forte, and I guess Hip-Hop may be? but I will have to check out some of their other videos, namely Queen and Black Sabbath.
edit: they do have quite a few Rock and Metal Reaction-To videos, so perhaps they do enjoy a good amount of Rock music, but maybe not highly technical stuff?
