I'm posting this with the hope that it's completely available to the public.
This Q and A that Joey did on Facebook on Saturday afternoon was per the Alien Angels 3 Fan Group.
Just to summarize, he talks about the solo record he is working on and working on new Three music. The solo album ("Word to the Wise") would likely come out before the next Three album. But there's some new Three music being worked on as well.
And he has written many songs, but many are not finished (either writing or just the recording of them).
No real projection on the timing of his solo album. But he gets only like 1 hour a day to work on his music, whereas he used to have a lot more time, etc.
2018?
The songs from the 2014 1-song per month thing may come out in on Three album in the future (not necessarily their next studio record).
Ani Di Franco, John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Opeth, Dream Theater, Victor Wooten, and Elliot Smith among other names he talked about as being a fan of, or inspired by, etc.
Also there was a Comic for Paint By Number that was never really finished. But the artwork is taken from part of that. And I guess the album is out of print and hard to come by now. I thankfully have a copy for myself.
I wish someone might have asked him about Vinyl (Three albums), but maybe another time soon.
Also the next Three album might be helped by crowd-funding (the question mentioned Kickstarter, but I would suggest Pledgemusic I guess).
Oh and cool to learn that Dug Pinnick of King's X is a fan and saw Three with Porcupine Tree when they toured together and hit Houston. I'm surprised Three and King's X never tried to tour together after that, but maybe they could? Porcupine Tree and King's X I know toured together at 1 point as well. I wonder if that was a result of Dug having seen PT live at that show?
edit: just googling, the King's X PT tour was in 2009, and I recall Three opened for PT before Progressive Nation in 2008, so perhaps.
The media market is huge, thus the need for a media review market.
This is our little contribution to that field.

Joey Eppard - Word to the Wise (2015-2016)

Per Neesh's post in Threedom Fighters, this album is coming out on June 21st. Which is a Tuesday, which is odd, but I'm not sure if it's released per https://joeyeppard.bandcamp.com/ if the Friday-only release dates really mean anything.
Regardless, should be great to hear. It's been 12 years as Neesh pointed out, since the release of Been to the Future.
No idea as far as stylistically, if this will be more acoustic-driven recordings like that record, or if it may include some other things like Orchestral stuff, maybe even with the assistance of Josh Benash, who I know is friends with Joey and Joey admires his work in many ways musically, namely the string arrangements with Kiss Kiss, Vuvuzela, and his solo music.
And it's been quite awhile since the last Three full-length album, being The Ghost You Gave to Me in 2011, so it'll be great to also just hear anything from Joey again. Although the 2014 Song of the Month project was cool, regardless.
Will bump when more info comes of course. I like the cover already.

Three - Crazy Eyes (Single)
https://3band.bandcamp.com/track/crazy-eyes
Another new track, which this one was scheduled to be released last September I recall. I imagine the 3rd-of-every-month thing got to be a bit difficult to keep up last year, understandably. But it's great to see another new song, which hopefully will end up on an upcoming record from Three.
edit: This is an outstanding ballad. Maybe the best new song they've released in the last year.

Three: 2014 Singles on the 3rd of each month ("It's Alive (live)" 7/3/14)
8/3/14 5:27PM
"Woodchuck Truck"..this is odd to say the least, but at least it's pretty different than any of these others.
7/3/14 10:50PM
"It's Alive" live. Pretty impassioned and emotional sounding version.
"One Way Town" live. One of my favorites and one of their catchiest tracks.
4/24/14 9:17PM- 5/3/14 2:14PM
"You Are the Alien" coming 5/3/14 3PM EST
digging it. Not as riffy as Sugarlife, but still enjoying things like the vocal harmonies and lyrcs. The outro is short but nice.

good tune, not incredibly different for Three, but it's catchy and energetic. I am curious if any of these singles will feature any string arrangements as in chatting with Joey last year and in the past, he loves the string arrangements from Kiss Kiss (and Vuvuzela), and he mentioned how he'd like to work with Josh Benash from those bands at some point.
But that being said, this is a nice new track that should tide us fans over until May 3rd.

NEW SINGLE SUGARLIFE COMING 4/3/14!
A BRAND NEW SINGLE ON THE 3RD OF EVERY MONTH!
There's even a Facebook event setup for this. But as that says, April 3rd "Sugarlife" drops and every month, at least the goal is to release a new song, on the 3rd day of said month.
Rather unique way to go about releasing new music, a little like Imogen Heap has done over the last 3 or 4 years.
This should be pretty sweet.
Also it might be worth adding, they added a cool new t-shirt to their online store
Here
which probably will help produce the release of their next record, and even the cost of even recording and mixing/mastering these new singles, which I'd imagine will be released digitally at 1st.

"It's Alive" live. Pretty impassioned and emotional sounding version.
So back in 1963 as The Beatles went to record "Twist and Shout", one of their most famous songs...John Lennon had a cold that day, but they recorded all day anyway but saved that song til the end of the session so he could really blow out his voice! That's kinda what happened for us at this show, Joey's voice sounds good and raw. And since we always get requests to play this one live, here it is!
lyrics
Painted away the sun
For the picture I’d become
Color the sound of thunder in the distance
A lonely sky
Ghosts were giving chase
And the brush revealed your face
And then I mixed the pigments up
With venom and I’m a lonely god
Who can’t explain
Colliding characters
But from a bird’s eye point of view
Well, all the world is
Green and gold and grey to blue
Brightness falling from the ashes crawling
It’s alive… It’s alive… It’s alive…
Oh, it’s alive…
Painted a rising sun
And the clouds did come undone
Artificial thunder (artificial thunder) in the distance
The sirens cry
Here to take my place
With a mirror for a face
Last leg of the feedback loop
For devils and gods to even odds
And break away
Brightness falling from the ashes crawling
It’s alive… It’s alive… It’s alive…
Oh, it’s alive…
Here we go ’round the bend
Through the orbit once again
From a fate that we cannot defend
This little boy
Renews the promise of a man
For the future is ours to command
I’m dreaming on borrowed time
And I don’t want to wake
Can’t tell if I’m falling or I’m flying
Another leap of faith
Say goodbye and the sun goes down
Watch you turn the bend
But I remember the world is round
You’ll be back again
I stoke the fire in a statue’s heart
Nobody notices
The eyes of a ghost
In a haunted work of art
Watch it come alive
Oh It’s alive… It’s alive… Oh it’s alive…

The Grape and the Grain (Solo/Side project of Daniel Grimsland of THREE)
I was introduced to this band/project of Daniel Grimsland of the band Three per Facebook, and I must say, its got something. "The Hudson" is I guess the most recent released work from The Grape and the Grain, but it appears they also put out a debut LP earlier this year titled Better Keep Digging, which I embedded from their Bandcamp as well below.
I haven't checked out the full length record yet, but the new single "The Hudson" and a 2nd/b-side titled "Lord I'm coming Home," I am enjoying. It's pretty ballsy, guitar driven blues-rock. I am reminded maybe a bit of a band like Hotel of the Laughing Tree in their heavy-blues moments, and even a little of older school hard rock/metal in some ways. The guitar work is tasteful, using lines that fit well. I suppose that is a big element of Bluesy kind of rock anyway.
Does it sound like Three? eh, maybe a little here and there, but I think it stands out enough to not realize it's their bass player.
Anyway, I haven't heard the full-length yet, but mean to. Right now, I gotta finish up some other posts and then head down to Northfield to see Miracles of Modern Science finally. But I'll by some miracle, lol, be able to get back to taking more of this project's music in, and hopefully some others will as well.
edit: Just based on their name, I could see The Grape and the Grain doing a good double bill with someone like Erick Serna Killing Floor or Trent Romens. Perhaps Daniel even knows Erick still as Three did tour with The Dear Hunter more than once.

Joey Eppard and Family in Rochester, MN 3/1/13
3/2/13 3:00PM
Purple Rain, such an epic, tasteful ending to last night's special show.
3/2/13 1:19AM
I just got home from seeing this private room party performance at Kathy's Pub in downtown Rochester, MN
this show was awesome. Joey and his Dad Jimmy played for probably close to 90 minutes including an acoustic set from Joey. My friend Josh Rundquist, filled in on drums for Joey's brother Josh who couldn't make due to obligations with Coheed and Cambria. And Josh was a very good fit for them, in this setting.
The whole thing was for Joey's Grandpa Waylon's 80th B-Day. There were like 30 or 40 family and friends there, myself and some of Josh's friends sort of felt we were crashing a private party. They had this great buffet of food with 2 or 3 types of meatballs and pigs in a blanket. Veggies, Fruit and a lot of other stuff.
The stuff Joey did was much if not all on his new Live DVD, which I would strongly recommend others pick up on his site (or at least download it I guess, in FLAC form? via bandcamp I thought Joey mentioned).
Joey's dad is a really good mostly blues/blues-rock guitarist, which now having seen him play, I can understand how the guitar chops runs in the family.
They even closed the show with Purple Rain
A really great, personal-able night, getting to see and chat with Joey and some of his family. His son Julian even ended up walking around near Joey, Jimmy and Josh during many songs, it was comical.
here's 1 of the tunes they did "Stranded in a Treetop" with Joey's father Jimmy (not from the show tonight obviously.

Coheed and Cambria w/ Three + The Dear Hunter (twice) Northeast Sept 2012
Okay, these are the tour dates Coheed and Cambria has posted this September. As this description shows, the 9/29/12 date in Atlantic City will have all of them on the bill. I also noticed my friend Neesh on facebook mention the Rochester, NY Coheed show on 9/21/12 will include 3 as well (but not necessarily The Dear Hunter).
I imagine this short Northeast tour could include them all. Not that it is so relevant to myself living in Minnesota, but it is a pretty cool 3-band bill, that I'm sure some folks will want to check out, if they are a fan of all of them, or 1 or 2, or just progressive rock in general.
edit: this link shows the modified Tour Schedule below shows
The Dear Hunter: only for 9/28 and 9/29 dates
Three: 9/13, 9/19, 9/20, 9/21, 9/22, 9/24, 9/25, 9/26, 9/28 and 9/29.

Cynic US Tour: Support 3, Anathema, STS
one posting with some dates
Cynic‘s upcoming tour with 3 has begun to take shape with initial dates available below. The trek will also apparently feature Scale The Summit and Anathema at a number of the stops with more details pending.
11/03 West Chester, PA – The Note (no 3)
11/05 New York, NY – Gramercy Theatre (“The Metal Suckfest“) (no 3)
11/11 Pontiac, MI – Clutch Cargo’s
11/12 Joliet, IL – Mojoes
11/13 St. Paul, MN – Station 4
11/18 Portland, OR – Hawthorne Theatre
11/22 San Francisco, CA – Slim’s
11/23 West Hollywood, CA – Key Club
I'll be going to the show on the 13th, however, it'll mean a lot more if in fact Anathema is there. Station 4? as I've said many times before about them, credit to them for booking good tours, but their sound and environment (namely how hot it gets) has really led me to sour about that place. So much so, I may even prefer 1st Crapenue now, lol.
But so be it. It's a show with some great bands, however the venue circumstances will have to be secondary. Perhaps they'll install air conditioning and have the right guy doing sound (unlike whoever did the last Fair to Midland show, along with Protest the Hero a few years ago).

Hey all,
We have finally done it... we made THE album we've been working towards for our entire career. Yes, it did take some time, but works of this magnitude often do. "The Ghost You Gave To Me" is our most epic recording yet. It is a perfect blend of our unique brand of musicality, potent melody and lyrical innovation. We have pushed our own envelope beyond formulaic composition and into a realm where songs have a life of their own... Unpredictable twists and turns, striking imagery and passionate precision combine to make each song a journey in and of itself. This record is alive....

Album title came down to "React" or "The Ghost you Gave to Me"... after a little research we're going with the latter. As THE most difficult band to search out on the internet we decided that we're better off with an Album title that will actually come up in the search engines!
sounds good. September and the 4th Quarter is looking to be, as it often is, rather busy and deep. Artwork, track list, yep..in the coming weeks/months.

Sounds like good progress is being made. When it gets done and is released? My guess would be July/August-ish depending how much promotion and other stuff is required. Interesting how they are working with the guy who they worked with on Paint By Number and who worked with Coheed on their 1st 3 records.
Also not to forget, this album, really goes back a few years given the target in 2009 was to release Revisions and not one but possibly 2 other records that year alone. But everything that went down with being dropped by Roadrunner Records, and then being re-signed by Metal Blade Records obviously impacted those not coming out in '09 or even last year I suppose.
Also, I'd love to see them live again supporting it. Hopefully in Minnesota again.

This is the team that recorded and produced our first record "Paint By Number" back in 1998 and also produced and recorded Coheed & Cambria's first three albums. We'll be back at it next week to hopefully knock out a couple more mixes. Then its time to finish up the remaining tunes and mix them in march. Good things do take time, and we believe this record will be more than worth the wait...
Meanwhile we'll be making our return to the Bearsville Theater on February 25th. Expect some more sneak peeks at whats to come from the new album... Spread the word!
Also this Saturday will be a musical double feature in Woodstock; at 7:30 a solo set by Joey Eppard at the Varga Gallery followed by a performance of E-G-O at Harmony Cafe starting at 9:30pm.
