This is a beta test/dry-run deal. That's a playlist for May/Mid Spring 2005.

15 Songs/Tracks 2 hours, 11 minutes exactly or 131 minutes.

Script? haven't done it yet or for this one, but I may try. I would estimate if this is the 2 hours 11 minutes it is, with talking, the Podcast would go maybe but not quite 3 hours, but close.

Music Release History Radio Show/Podcast and PLAYLISTS (immediately) Update

The plan is looking to be:

YouTube: likely on Pause at or around 1000 videos barring something changing to focus on this in the short and maybe long term. Shorts and.or TikTok on the other hand may be still done. This likely will be sometime in 2026 or 2027..maybe 2028 even. It mostly depends on when I hit 1000 videos

Instead of 20 Songs and 3 hours..it'll likely be more like by decade

60's: 5 songs

70's: 5 or possibly up to 10 songs

80's: 5 or possibly up to 10 songs

90's: 10 songs or possibly more

2000's: 10 or maybe closer to 20 songs

2010's: 10 or maybe closer to 20 songs

2020's: 10 or maybe closer to 20 songs

Windows of time:

Selecting 1 month that includes songs from releases released in January along with the releases from the previous month and the following month. Aka a 'Season" and a part of the season that, that month is. So the following months are considered:

January: Early Winter (+December and February)

February: Mid Winter (+January and March)

March: Late Winter (+February and April)

April: Early Spring (+March and May)

May: Mid Spring (+April and June)

June: Late Spring (+May and July)

July: Early Summer (+June and August)

August: Mid Summer (+July and September)

September: Late Summer (+August and October)

October: Early Fall (+September and November)

November: Mid Fall (+October and December)

December: Late Fall (+November and January)

So January (Early Winter) would include songs from December and February,
February (Mid Winter) would include songs from January and March, etc

And the songs chosen are intended to be nearly all from the information I have on the release Date or Month.

Playlists and then a podcast at some point? Initially, a Playlist and I may do a writeup (or script per say). The hope would be if the time is allowed, to record an actual Podcast where I get to play historical DJ and put it up on Substack or Mixcloud. Clips? well..not ideally, but that may find a way to get around copyright concerns (and Mixcloud or Substack vs YouTube, Spotify, etc).

And the Radio Station name (or Podcast even) may be called KAMR or WAMR
(AMR = All Media Reviews, K or W being common for the 1st Letter in a Radio Station depending on location based on where they are broadcasting from relative to being East or West of the Mississippi River I guess).

Doing the same Month/Season multiple times? yes because some albums/releases will not necessarily be included due to the song/time limit. So going back to a month/season would make sense depending on how committed I get. It may be several years though before the same month/season is done again.

Research? while I've done a lot, there's still a lot to do of course. I estimated, it's approximately 720 Months/Seasons going back to 1965 through the present. I will do as much as I can, but also may do some on the fly aka I have many of them in order and listed, but will miss some, and then go back at some point. Hence that among other reasons to plan to do the same Month/Season again eventually.

All Media Reviews Podcast 1

not incredible, but for a 1st attempt, it didn't come out too poorly.

My biggest issue though is not being able to upload it ON YOUTUBE, lol.

So I'm using a 3rd party site to be able to upload an audio-only file with a pic.

I'm sure this will become 2nd nature, the more I do it. And I will say, it took almost no time to upload.

A lot of what I talked about is just rehash of stuff in here, but of course many people who may find the video/podcast don't read this blog religiously, etc.

But, trial and error, etc..

I did come up with 1 possible schedule, on the 1 day I may go out for work, to get gas or to the storage space, I could easily take 10-20 mins hanging out in the car after consuming my lunch and make these. The car being the only planned, private place to record these at this point, etc.

I may consider renaming/naming this podcast or that weekly thing like
"The Weekly Music at Lunch Podcast"  or "The Lunch Podcast" or something, lol.

The Albums of the Year though, per I can see it going well over 30 minutes, may not be do-able during my lunch break.,

the people saying this episode sucked, really need to ask themselves what they want or expect from a Psych episode. It was hilarious and we got Rachel Leigh Cook in a skimpy nigthtee, lol.

Sound Opinions (the podcast) to do a PROG show (11/13)

Here's my forum post

soundopinions.org

Dunno how many others around here listen to the Sound Opinions podcast besides myself.

While the hosts and the content they cover at-times can be nauseating and baffling, at the same time, the show has enough music topics and entertaining moments for myself to keep listening to it.

Well well well, this upcoming week, which is the 207th show for these 2 Siskel-and-Ebert-wannabe music critics, they are going to feature a whole show on our known and beloved genre of progressive rock.

Show #207: 11.13.09
School of Prog Rock: Jim and Greg explore the fantastical world of Progressive Rock with Charles Snider, author of The Strawberry Bricks Guide to Progressive Rock. ( )

so, if even if you hate both Kot and especially Derogatis, this show may give many reasons to check this weeks show out, just based on subject matter.

And one thing to note, a few years ago they added a hotline segment at the end of the show. People call-in and voice *their opinion* about the show. So, if you agree/appreciate or disagree with anything they say on this show, there is that option and hopefully your message will get played at the end of following week's show.

Will Dream Theater or Marillion get mentioned? who knows. I met the guys last Spring at a q&a in Minneapolis, and I brought up Dream Theater to them once; which led DeRogatis especially claiming he wasn't a fan.

But, given the theme of this show, and how they mentioned how progressive rock exists today, I'm not sure how DT will not be at least be brought up. Guess we'll see.

looking forward to how much "modern prog" they cover. Frankly, they should have contacted ME, even tho I'm not a journalist exactly, or necessarily any more of an expert than many other fans.

However, I am probably one of if not the most passionate fans who listens to their show regularly. Frankly, I'm one of the most passionate fans anywhere, if you consider the word "progressive" by it's literal definition.

I mean I'm sure there's a % of the regular listeners that know their prog rock. And there's a % that are into bands like Yes, Crimson, Tull, Genesis, Floyd (duh) Muse, The Mars Volta, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, and even Dream Theater.

But among all of those, I dunno how many of them are as-into so much other "prog" or indie-prog and the different areas of progressive metal, yadayada etc, etc.

But who knows, maybe my taste pales in comparison to the people they'll have on there. It certainly does give me almost necessity to call-in to react/thank/complain or just name-drop on the hotline.

edit: this is slighly ot, but kind of related as I am known to do, I shamelessly-plugged this on a few prog-centric boards. One of the obvious ones (I would think) is this site progarchives.com.

Okay, I posted something a few weeks ago I recall..last week actually about Soundscape since they finally added them after how many years?

well, I have pretty much since I ever went to that site, found it be an absolute embarrassment to people who enjoy the music I do. Everything is so distgustingly CATEGORIZED to the detail. The people who run that site *vote* for bands to be included.

It's fucking lame and anal as hell. Really, the clowns who use that site actively need to get the fuck out of their parents basement and either go the fuck away, or get rid of the fucking sub-genres, that they assume everyone on the site, let alone coming to the site for the 1st time would know.

Your site sucks. The reviews for the most part suck. You people need to take the lumps of coal out of your fucking asses and get a fucking life.

There's 2 categories for music

1) good
2) bad

that site is totally ridiculously set-up, it makes D&D seem simplistic, lol.

So if someone posts a new topic in *the wrong forum* I would think it's a common thing. Many of those people never come back. And wouldn't find reason to unless they ever changed the way the site and maybe more importantly, the way the people who run/maintain it are.

Frankly, I'd love to see it get shut down. It almost did a couple of years ago. It was giving spyware or some other shit. It might be nice, then people who are looking for info on said genre wouldn't have to be embarrassed (or laugh-at) the stereotypes that people like myself have dealt with for so long. it would be justice, I tell ya. But at this point, I'm not sure what to do, other than ignoring any kinds of responses there.

Psych Podcasts

well there is this blog but I mentioned a few months ago how I wanted to talk more about my favorite tv show, and since I along with a friend do a podcast, it makes sense to link it up here too.

As I posted the other day

Episode 7 and 8 and Fall Finale aka Longmore Man
my apologies for the lack of edits and especially the heavy-breathing (I had no idea I was doing that.) As someone who LOATHES hearing stuff like that on other podcasts, I want to warn/apologize ahead of time. On the Fall Finale aka "Longmore Man" I tried my best to avoid it. Unfortunately the mix of the microphones isn't perfect.

Episodes 7 and 8 of Season 4

Episode 9 Longmore Man
