"Deny It All" featuring Andy Hull of Manchester Orchestra.

1st song/video "Home" (yeah, I was there in spirit :p)
Release Date is March 12th.
12/19/12 6:09PM
Looks rather good. Bittersuite (;)) for myself given I should have been there, but if you read back to some of the posts in this blog around March/April of this year, it's been explained why I didn't go.
This should be cool, and for some reason, remind me of the Dream Theater @ Roseland Live Scenes From New York DVD. But I am obviously a lot more excited to hear about the next record, which I guess is projected to come out sometime in March.
The media market is huge, thus the need for a media review market.
This is our little contribution to that field.

White Denim - "At the Farm"
not enough time now to write, nor maybe enough hearing their new full-length in its entirety to review it. But I've got to for now just post this song, which is the 3rd track off their new, 5th? LP D.
Of course I saw them with The Dear Hunter and Manchester Orchestra a few weekends ago, and was so impressed by their performance, I blindly bought their new album on vinyl.
All-instrumental tune, that is just groovey, fun, happy, and addictive. For some reason, among others, the band I am thinking of when hearing this song or album in the late 60's/early 70's Psych/Blues Rock being Wishbone Ash.
But hopefully a pending review of D will surface and I'll be more certain about that comparison.

Casey Crescenzo - Last.FM Interview/Acoustic
not anything really new, and these songs, while I enjoy them, namely in a little different stripped-down arrangement. I guess my love of TCS, or rather, the songs I enjoy the most from it are not going to be played too often live at this point. Although 1 setlist from the other day showed them playing "Misplaced Devotion" at least. I guess both "Therma" and "Progress" are 2 others Casey wants to play live, but has not found the means to do so (in the way he thinks makes sense).
edit: for some reason, last.fm's video source won't allow more than 1 video embed at once for me, lol. I direct linked the other videos, although it appears the "Home" video isn't there, and "The Canopy" is hyper-linked on it's linked page instead. Also something has go to be off about the html on that page. But hopefully this will be visible now.

We’ve had an amazing summer. Starting with the release of the Color Spectrum, which thanks to our great fans, sold out of the vinyl record. We followed up the album release by headlining our first tour across the U.S. All of our loyal fans made the tour a great time and it was awesome getting to meet some of you as we went.
As we enter the fall we’re getting ready to kick off the PacSun Tour with our good friends Manchester Orchestra. Check out the schedule below and pre-order your tickets for the show near you today!
You have asked and we have answered. In October we will be releasing a CD/DVD version of the complete collection of The Color Spectrum. I’m hoping all of you are as excited as we are for this release as there will be some great footage on the DVD.
This month Amazon is running a special on The Color Spectrum for $5! Introduce your friends to The Dear Hunter for this unbelievably low price and turn them into believers!
In the meantime, why don’t you check out our latest video.

The good: we got a date, November 5th.
The bad: it's not at The Varsity Theater. And frankly, The Cabooze, while not my least favorite venue, is definitely not high on my list. The dredg show there last November kind of supported that. Although I've seen some other, better shows there like House of Fools. Rafael Saddique I'll admit wasn't bad, but still, seeing those acts at The Varsity or The Cedar would be much more preferable. Although I guess after the Fair to Midland show, perhaps any venue is more desirable than Station 4.
The Unknown: Manchester Orchestra I've known about for years, and recall hearing a few songs off and on, but not really caring for them. I recall they were kind of in your Scenester/Emo vein. Although I do like the couple of songs with their singer on The Color Spectrum, so the odds of seeing those tunes live add something. White Denim someone added to the New Prog list recently in Wikipedia. I did sample a song or 2 from them, and thought they were okay. But I can't be sure at this point what I think of them.
The other obvious thing is the Lifetime Membership. If TDH aren't headlining, I guess only 5 spots are available. I just sent in my email, so the odds are pretty good I'm 1 of the 1st 5. But of course there's no guarantee they will receive it based on the experience in June/July for the headlining show. But we'll see. Worst case scenario, I walk up with my laminate and mention the guest list thing and I'll be allowed in.

Okay, this is a few days late, I know (my ability to update this stuff, especially this past Birthday-week-of-my-gf is understandably not what I'd prefer). For those who don't follow them so closely, this could be the 1st they've seen this.
Pretty f-ing good and intriguing look and sound from the making of "Orange."
I almost should start to go on record as to say if this collection I expect to
a) listen to a ton this Summer/Fall
b) be in my top 10 if not top 5
Sucks to realize I can't afford the $281+ to fly to NYC for a special show 1-week from Tuesday. $, priorities, a girlfriend...I guess I shouldn't be so greedy/picky but yeah, it would be nice to experience these kinds of things for once with the Lifetime Membership. Hopefully it'll happen sooner than later.
