Between the Buried and Me - Selkies: The Endless Obsession
From a concise/tight/concrete songwriting approach, I don't think the band ever made anything as well-crafted.
When I got into BTBAM in 2007, it was mostly about Colors. But Alaska has always been a relatively close 2nd, and this track is the climax of that album.
Great guitar harmonizing, great segues, and great flow.
And yes, along with Burst, a band who took the King Crimson"Three of a Perfect Pair" interval pattern/riff and ran with it to make perfection.
The Lost in Vegas guys just did a Reaction video to their 1st BTBAM song, "The Coma Machine," and I cannot stress how much better this tune would have been,
